What is a pancake load cell (aka shear web load cell)?
Pancake load cells feature a central threaded hole for both tension and compression force measurement and a low-profile design, also known as shear web load cells. Our cost-effective universal pancake load cells offer a compact design with exceptional structural capability to withstand extraneous loads, such as torque, bending movements and side loads combined with a high degree of accuracy for endurance or inline applications.
Pancake load cells are supposed to be installed to a flat and solid surface through countersunk or threaded holes located around the transducer, different accessories such as eye bolts, threaded rods and load buttons can be mounted to the center tapped hole to meet the requirements of diverse applications such as tank/hopper weighing systems, tablet compression force or injection molding clamping force measurement, structural testing, center of gravity measuring equipment, hydraulic presses and so on.
LCS offers strain gauge pancake load cells with measuring ranges from 5kg to 100ton (50N to 1000kN), materials available are aluminum, alloy steel and stainless steel.
